Faith

This was a week of faith and trust.

In myself
In God
In the right thing happening
In consequences of actions being for the best
In the assured presence of guidance
In friends
In their intentions, even if their actions might speak otherwise
In their love
In knowledge
In wisdom
In the transitory nature of uncertainty
In our ability to overcome our doubts and fears
In the power of the spiritual word
In the power of prayer
In the power of love
In time, and its healing powers
In the inherent goodness of people
In knowledge of the sacred writings
In my own actions as a result of that knowledge, and their consequences
In virtue
In being able to learn from mistakes
In God's mercy and forgiveness
In His infinite grace and benevolence

This was a week of faith and trust.

Something I often think about in relation to faith and trust is letting go of the (illusion of the) need to control... certainly we have choice over our decisions... the question of just how much control we have over our reality would make for a very interesting debate (let's add it to the list). But I think about this letting go of the need to control as necessary for detaching and trusting in God and in things working out for our greatest spiritual growth.

You might also modify "In knowledge" to be "In conscious knowledge" per that quote you recently put on your blog about faith being conscious knowledge first.

I also wonder to what extent faith must be based in our experiences, as in, we gain faith through our experiences... like learning from mistakes, seeing how things always work out for our greatest upliftment and growth in the end, seeing our prayers being answered, experiencing the power of love, or the healing power of time. My sense is that this is an absolute necessity for faith.
